Te-Tech Process Solutions have been working in collaboration with Trant Engineering, EDF, Uniper and Siemens Energy to provide the control system and MCC for the make-up and purge water systems from the river intake to the Cottam power station
The system is to be installed during a planned shut-down to minimise disruption to power supply
The MCC and RIO Control Panels have been successfully FAT tested and are ready for shipping to Cottam power station.
The bespoke and complex design of the system met all regulations and customer needs
The panel is linked directly to a Siemen DCS which communicates to the Remote I/O, intelligent drives and Variable Speed Drives via a PROFIBUS/DP link configured to provide full redundancy
The part of the system comprises of 4 DOL starters, 2 VSD drives with their own ICA panel with additional MCC’s and ICA sections to follow
